Rose Paving Special Projects: Guard Shack, Baby Guard Shack!

Published by Candace on March 20th, 2013

This past winter, the Rose Paving Special Projects Division completed a 3.5-foot by 7-foot security guard shack installation at one of Chicago’s most famous sports facilities.  The project called for the demolition and widening of the existing entrance to the parking lot, installation of a new concrete island, concrete curbing, concrete sidewalk, new concrete entrance, and guard booth.

Our team executed the project on time and within budget, utilizing the attentive project management team, traffic control, and excellent customer service.  An efficient timeframe was imperative, as our crews were working around a busy schedule of NBA, NHL and concert events.  Security is very important at this facility, and Rose Paving took extra care.

Overall, the specs included the following: 5 concrete bollards, 280 linear feet of concrete curb removal and replacement, 1,660 square feet of concrete sidewalk, apron and entrance installation, and 675 square feet of infrared asphalt repair.

Published by Candace on June 20th, 2012

Project Fast Facts:

Jobsite Location:  Golf Club in Naperville, IL

Project Scope:  Asphalt removal & replacement and asphalt resurfacing of main parking lot, and cracksealing, sealcoating, and lot marking a smaller parking lot and surrounding areas.

S.C.A.L.E. Guide Score:  The parking lots we seal coated were classified as a “B” and the lot we resurfaced was classified as a “D” according to our S.C.A.L.E. Guide, due to general wear and tear and oxidation of the smaller lots, and severe overall asphalt deterioration of the main parking area.

Duration of Project:  Based on the scope of work, this project spanned the course of 3 days.

Procedure:  This parking lot rehabilitation kicked off with asphalt removal and replacement of seven severely deteriorated areas of the main parking area, equal to over 1,300 square feet.  The valet, dock areas, and road leading to the tennis court of the golf club required an asphalt overlay, equaling over 68,000 square feet.  Our team then crack sealed, seal coated and lot marked the beverage house lot, remaining road leading to the tennis court, golf cart barn lot, member lot, driving range lot and main entrance road.
